Contemporary facades that will stand the test of time
Non-combustible Rockpanel has been used across the school’s exterior in a selection of surface designs to deliver contemporary facades that will stand the test of time and remain looking as good as the day they were installed, throughout their long life.
Derbyshire-based Advanced Roofing installed the facades. Senior Contracts Manager, Dave Stewart, “The project was a great one to work on with BAM. All the external cladding was Rockpanel, installed in conjunction with helping hand brackets, rails and fire barriers, using a mix of secret and rivet fix. The panels were also treated with ProtectPlus, Rockpanel’s own resilient, transparent coating which guards against surface damage and marking.”
Across the main elevations and terrace Rhinestone Oak from the Rockpanel Woods collection is used in slim vertical planks. The 19 designs in this collection each radiate the organic warmth of timber without the associated maintenance and deterioration.
Rockpanel panels in four RAL-matched colours are used as accent features alongside windows and elsewhere in large blocks and vertical columns – the primary yellow and three shades of green really deliver visual impact and energy to the architecture.
Rockpanel’s Rob Shirville spoke about the project, “It is always gratifying when a project allows our ranges to really shine. The Oak Rhinestone vertical plank design which lines the mostly upper storey of this attractive structure, harmonise with the mellow brick elevations beneath. That, along with the pops of colour supplied by the Rockpanel yellow and greens, and the simple grey framed windows and doors, create a crisp pallet of materials which deliver a welcoming, contemporary structure.”
Diverse Academies Trust CEO, David Cotton, “I would like to thank the amazing people and partners who have worked together to bring this project to fruition - we are grateful to each and every person who has worked on the building. It will make such a huge difference to the lives of children and young people with special needs in our local community.”
