Facade panels: a great way to give your facade a new look

Facade panels, also known as facade cladding or cladding panels, can be used to give an existing building a new look or to create impressive facades for brand new buildings.

Using facade panels for your building has many advantages. They are a great choice in terms of durability, maintenance and aesthetics. Depending on the type or brand you choose, you’ll also find that they can offer many other benefits.

Exterior facade panels

So what are facade panels exactly? They are boards with a decorative coating that can be placed on walls of a building. Most of them are intended to apply to exterior walls, but in many cases they are also suitable for indoor use.

Although the panels can be made of various materials, they have some things in common. They are all sturdy and strong and usually require a lot less maintenance than for example wood. Depending on how the panels are made, they all have their own properties. For example, some facade panels are more sustainable than others. They also widely vary in terms of fire safety, which is especially important when dealing with high-risk or high-rise buildings.

We created an overview of the various types of cladding panels to give you an idea what the pros and cons are for each material.

Decorative facade panels

If you want to create a specific look for a building and want to go beyond the usual brick or plastered walls, then facade panels are just the thing for you! They are available in many designs.

If you are looking for a natural look, then wood look facade panels or stone look panels are the perfect solution. They can fit beautifully in green surroundings, but are also very durable and require very little maintenance. Stone wool facade panels are also a very light-weight option.

For bold design statements there are also a wide range of facade cladding products available. Think of facade boards in almost every colour, or facade boards with a metal look. And if you really want a building to stand out from the crowd, you can even go for facade cladding with a chameleon look.

Stone wool panels for optimum fire safety

Stone wool facade cladding combines the durability and fire resilience of stone with the workability of wood. These facade panels are made from basalt, a natural volcanic stone which is non-depletable, making stone wool cladding a very responsible and sustainable choice. And because they can withstand extremely high temperatures by nature, they are also a great choice in terms of fire safety.
