Rockpanel has been used to create a contemporary statement gateway at the iconic Bury St Edmunds, British Sugar site in Suffolk.
British Sugar was established at Bury St Edmunds a century ago. As part of its commitment to continuous evolution and improvement, the company aimed to enhance the work environment at the site. The scope of the project involved reallocating and expanding staff welfare and training facilities into one combined, purpose-designed building.
The new building serves as a central hub for staff, offering a gym, locker room, and changing and showering facilities. It also provides a centre for training, along with meeting spaces and acts as the reception point for visitors. In addition to offering higher quality staff amenities, the facility also signifies a positive step towards sustainability. The new building is more energy efficient, demonstrating much improved thermal performance.
